Please join us on Monday, December 14 for the monthly PTO meeting at 5:30pm in the library. Childcare and pizza are available in the north cafeteria. The meeting will be followed by our annual Winter Chorus Concert at 6:30pm in the auditorium. New this year: better lighting on stage so that we can see ALL our performers! Congratulations to our Talented All-Stars!The talent show was an impressive event again this year, with over 70 students participating. It is no small feat to stand on stage under bright lights before hundreds of people and perform. It was a wonderful, joyful, fun-filled evening. Thank you to everyone who helped students with costumes, acts, and transportation. And thank you to our hard-working and dedicated staff members who organized and coordinated behind the scenes: Ms. Martin, Mr. Salvatierra, Ms. Madison, Ms. Mimms, Ms. Moore, Ms. Adams and Ms. Paige.

Book Fair and Book Fairies Need Your Help
The 2015 Bedford Falls Book Fair is coming to Venable the week of December 7. On Monday and Tuesday, all students will visit the library to fill out a wish list. It is our wish that all students will receive a book from the book fair. If you are able to contribute to the Book Fairy Fund, please send in your donation to Venable in the envelope labeled "Book Fairy" coming home to you this week. If you would like to sign up to help with the Book Fair, please contact our librarian, Beth Schrank, or visit this online scheduling tool: http://tinyurl.com/VenableBookfair2015 Thank You, Walk-A Thon Supporters!
It was reported at the November PTO meeting that we had raised $9117 for our 2015 Walk-A-Thon, 91% of our goal. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this important fund-raising event. Our students earned two rewards for meeting the goals for the number of pledge forms returned: Mrs. Kershner dressed and acted like a UVA super-fan and sang the Good Old Song in front of the whole school on Friday, November 20. On Tuesday, November 24, all students participated in a a 70s-themed Encore Fun Day where they played human Hungry Hungry Hippo, human Foosball and human Spirograph. All the activities involved team work, communication and collaboration. Thank you to our Encore team (Martin, Salvatierra, Schrank, Combs) for putting together these activities. It was a great day!
