Fourth graders this week listened in on a live interview with three famous graphic novelists this week and then tried their hand at some of the craft they learned about. They also used iPods to learn about key concepts in their upcoming weather units, moving at a self-guided pace through several video explanations of the concepts.
Some first graders put on a great reader's theater show for their peers today--The Three Billy Goats Gruff and the Three Little Pigs were well performed by Ms. Schraeder's students. Way to go!
All Tuesday PE classes got to practice and video themselves doing brain-boosting exercises. The videos will be used to lead them in classroom brain breaks later on.
Thursday some Venable students in the Science Club went to the Globetrotters game. One of our very own was selected to participate in the opening activity!
Thanks to Ms. Schrank, the parent volunteers and teachers who helped keep our book fair week alive, even with the snow day. With creative scheduling and extended hours, we had a successful week.
Saturday is Gardens and Grounds day from 9-12. We hope to see you there. It's supposed to be perfect weather!
